Summary

AquaSol was retained by Knight Frank on behalf of its client, one of the prospective investors in the Qurun Aquapolis project.  Our firm provided aquaculture investment valuation work related to the proposed US$128 million shrimp and sea cucumber farming project in the Sultanate of Oman.  Key deliverables included preliminary due diligence on the proposed project, a review of the local and global aquaculture industry, development of the Consultant’s detailed financial model, development of a global database of public aquaculture companies and private aquaculture transactions, development of traditional aquaculture industry valuation metrics, and development of a unique valuation of the proposed project utilizing certain rights associated with the land concession (i.e. Usufruct rights).

Knight Frank were appointed as real estate advisor in respect of a large piece of land in the Sultanate of Oman which was identified for development of a shrimp farm. In order to meet the client requirement and get a detailed understanding of what was a highly specialised industry, we engaged with Tom Frese and his team at AquaSol, who are experts in this field, who provided visionary insights into the development, feasibility and KPI’s expected of such a specialised business. AquaSol's input was invaluable as we were appointed to provide advice on the potential value of the underlying land which would go into the JV as equity. AquaSol's detailed industry insights were key in guiding us with our recommendations to the Client.
